The Jehovah's Witness Bubble

Jehovah's Witnesses are experts at deploying double standards in any given interaction at the edge of their bubble.
Inside the cult bubble all is well at the center of the spiritual paradise. Interactions between true believers tend to go smoothly as everyone is playing by the same rules. Arguably a cult indicator in itself. Example - asking a JW to babysit for another JW presents no issues - all have read the same Bible Watchtower publications and no questions need be asked.
Way outside the bubble far into Satan's wicked world, honesthearted lovers of truth know what to expect and are suitably equipped for righteous warfare. Example - in the unlikely event a JW was babysitting for a 'worldly' person they wouldn't ask any questions about what the worldly parents were doing with their night away from the kids.
The real problems arise when they have to deal with situations at the perimeter of the bubble - and a JW grandparent babysitting for their ex-JW child is a classic example of this. Involve a Jehovah's Witness with a former member of the group and watch the sparks fly. Examplesee here.
This is why so many non-JWs express huge surprise when they find out about the realities of shunning. "I had no idea they were so vindictive/evil/narrow-minded etc. They seem like nice normal people." Shunning is intrinsically an edge of the bubble experience. It's the unmentionable dirty little secret that dare not speak its name to those inside the bubble and unknown to those outside the bubble. At the edge is where the action is.
When you believe that you are one of Planet Earth's representatives of Universal Sovereignty and that all 6,775,000,000 non-representatives are soon to be destroyed in holy warfare it makes it easy to justify why the rights accorded to oneself are not extended to others. Unacceptable behaviour becomes acceptable. Treating fellow human beings as if they were dead by extreme shunning is never the right thing to do.
Active Jehovah's Witnesses who are shunning someone - ask yourself:
Is my treatment of my fellow humans more like how Jesus behaved towards sinners or more like how Hitler dehumanized his victims?
Pitiful really, but trying to get a Jehovah's Witness to admit a double standard is like nailing Jello to the ceiling.

WOW...Spot on with all of that! And to think I was in that "bubble ..... my sis is still in & we used to be very close! Recently I emailed her & told her how blessed My husband & I have been. Her response??? She was utterly SCE... to think that I could be blessed if I was NT going to 's & meetings! I told her that I pray for her....and I know that hit a raw nerve.... she responded that she will pray for me to come back to the jah.... so I could be happy and in the true faith....ha! I have NEVER been happier since I left...

Yes, of course, they have rules for everything, and they are used to suit themselves. They preach about not playing worldly computer games, like hitman, grand-auto theft 3 etc, but there are elders that do it, and then stand up on thursday evenings to preach against it. Viewing pornography, downloading child porn, and using the police national computer to do it, and the persons who I am speaking of will know who they are when I say this. Jesus said if they are faithful in what is least, then they will also be in much, but, as we can see, they cant be trusted in what is least, they dont even practice truthful teaching, and take away the rights of children that have been sexually abused in the congregations, and make up a starnge 2 witness rule sa as to get themselves off the hook, so,as we see all is not so very well in their paradise, in fact there are a lot of sick people that need help, some need locking up, yet they get away with it all under the pretext and banner of religion, and all at the cost of innocent men, women and children that are truely seeking God. As jesus aptly stated in Matt 23, these men that are taking the lead are not going into that kingdom and are preventing honest hearted ones seeking their way into that kingdom. We can read similar texts in ezekiel 34. But, according to the bible, their end is coming.

Actually you CAN nail Jello to the ceiling. But you have to freeze it COLD SOLID first.

The shunning practice is good practice for a "Witness", in that it shuts off their natural loving instinct of their fellow, in place of a love (adoration) of their adopted "Mother" (The Organization).

I have a dating site for ex-Jehovah's Witnesses at www.exjwsingles.com for those who are interested. You can sign up for free. I just wanted everyone to know because it's been a great meeting place for ex-JWs.
