About a year ago, two ladies in my community contacted me because a pair of JWs had been visiting them and they wanted to know how they could dialogue with them.

After talking with the two ladies, it appeared as though the JWs wanted to talk with the two ladies about the Trinity doctrine and the JWs had given them a copy of the Trinity brochure.

So, I took these two ladies to the library at the college where I teach and we looked up the quotes in the Trinity brochure. The two ladies were shocked at the misrepresentation. And, I told them that they should tell the JWs that the issue is not whether the Trinity is true or not, the issue is why the author of the Trinity brochure seemed to either misunderstand what he was reading or was academically dishonest.

The two ladies made photocopies of the original quotes and checked out the books that contained the original quotes and showed them to the JWs that visited with them. One of the JWs took the photocopies and said that since her husband was an elder that she would look over the quotes with him. The visits between the two JWs and the two ladies lasted about three months prior to this visit where the ladies showed the JWs the quotes and misquotes.

After the JWs took the photocopies, the two ladies were anxious for another visit from them. They would call, leaving a message asking for a visit from the JWs but no one would return their calls. After about three months since the last JW visit, one of the ladies saw one of the JWs that visited her at the local McDonalds and went up to say hello and request that they come back and continue their discussion. However, the JWs gave her the cold shoulder and would hardly even speak to her. This lady was very offended at the way she was treated by the JWs.

I told the ladies that it was obvious to me that they had made their point to the JWs but that these JWs were probably told by the elders not to return or discuss the matter with you anymore.

Now, these two ladies are waiting for a visit from a different pair of JWs so that they can share this information with them. However, I have the feeling that the JWs have put the addresses of these two ladies on their do not call again list.
